Ampeg's SVT Legacy

The SVT has become the bass amp that all rock bassists dream of, whether they're famous or completely unknown. Ampeg has modified the SVT concept for a wider variety of sounds.

Former Bass Player editor Scott Malandrone put the SVT in perspective this way: "The SVT has done for the sound of electric bass what the Marshall Super Lead had done for the electric guitar--it would give the instrument an identity."

Ampeg Amps: Built to Work Hard

Ampeg, (a division of Loud Technologies) is recognized world-wide as the premier name in bass and guitar amplification since the 1960's, when the SVT (Super Valve Tone) bass amplifier took the rock world by storm with its 300 watts, 8 x10" speaker cabinet and a tone that would go on to set the standard for rock and roll bass. Today, Ampeg continues on as the leader in professional bass gear and a cherished manufacturer of classic guitar amplifier designs with a continuing tradition of advancing bass tone through quality and innovation.

Vintage Ceramic speakers are designed to sound similar to the Alnicos, and were first developed in the 1960's as a cost effective alternative to the Alnicos. The advantage of the ceramic speaker is its ability to handle more power as well as a player's front end pedal accessories. Vintage Ceramic speakers are recommended for all types of music, and sound best at loud volumes.

The Vintage Ceramic Jensen® speakers were the heart and soul of guitar amps made throughout the 1960's and are still widely used today.

Jensen® Vintage Ceramic speaker model numbers all begin with the letter C and are sometimes referred to as the "C" series. Next in the model number is the diameter or size of the speaker. Vintage Ceramics are available in 8, 10, 12 and 15 inch diameters. Following the size is a letter which designates the speaker power rating. For example, R (25 watts), Q (35 watts), N (50 watts) and K (100 watts).

  • A compact SVT cabinet! Amp Cabinet Bass 2 x 10" AV
  • 2 x 10" Bass Cabinet for SVT Micro Head
The SVT-210AV is a pint-sized cabinet that's chock full of the same classic tone that made the original SVT such a bass powerhouse. The SVT-210AV is perfect for recording or live sound situations where the SVT 8 x 10 is too much horsepower, but you still want the SVT sound that has been the industry standard for nearly four decades. The perfect companion to the SVT210AV is the SVT Micro Head, a compact 150-watt head. For situations where you need SVT sound without SVT volume or girth, the SVT-210AV is a perfect choice.Ampeg SVT-210AV at a Glance:SVT soundPerfect for lower volume situationsSVT soundThe sound and feel of the legendary SVT is alive and well in the SVT210AV. Plus, its compact size makes it easier to lug from gig to gig that its bigger siblings that weigh in much heavier.Perfect for lower volume situationsSometimes the gig doesn't require the sheer amount of horsepower afforded by the size of the traditional SVT line. Carl's Custom Guitars Volume Box Guitar Amp Attenuator/Power Soak/Plate/Mass/Hot/Pad

Carl's Custom Guitars Volume Box Guitar Amp Attenuator/Power Soak/Plate/Mass/Hot/Pad Review

See more picture

Carl's Custom Guitars Volume Box Guitar Amp Attenuator/Power Soak/Plate/Mass/Hot/Pad Feature

  • Handmade in USA for 12+ years, over 15000 sold worldwide
  • Full moneyback satisfaction guarantee
  • Dial in sweeter tones at lower volumes
  • Widely expands the range of usable volume of the amplifier
  • Helps tame that touchy volume control-your neighbors will love you!
The Volume Box lets you expand your amp's range of usable volume & dial in much more "open" & "driven tube" tones at lower/more manageable volumes (without driving your neighbors crazy!). It adds another much more responsive audio taper volume control to the circuit of your amp by simply plugging into the effects loop, no mods required whatsoever and no danger of harming your amplifier. It solves the problem of an EXTREMELY touchy volume knob on your amp, you know what I mean: zero has no volume but 1 or 2 is already MUCH too loud. The Volume Box takes care of that with its nice smooth Audio Taper Control, DEFINITELY the most cost effective investment you can make for your amp, A great way to discover a whole new range of tones on your amplifier! Simply plug it into the effect loop on your amp (thats the preamp out and power amp in jacks, you need a series effects loop for this device, it does not go between amp and speaker) and turn the amp UP and then adjust the overall volume with the volume box...this allows you to get more of that wide open tube tone at nice safe levels, it really works great! Works on all amplifiers (tube and solid state even) with a standard (series) effects loop regardless of ohm load/power rating/impedance! A must have secret weapon every guitarist should have in their trick bag! Works great live, at home, in the studio, wherever! This box is made of durable molded plastic (see my other listings for my super strong die cast aluminum ones), I use all quality components, very well made and absolutely WILL NOT HURT YOUR AMP! Yes you CAN still use your effects loop for other devices while using the Volume Box, just be sure to place the Volume Box last in the loop and everything will work just fine! Box is very simple to use, no batteries to change or anything like that, just plug and play!!! This is the best bang for the buck you will ever get for your amp! Cables not included, full moneyback satisfaction guarantee, thanks!!!
